Art for My Sake

Remove Formatting from selection

Here is some of the recent art projects I have been working on since I came back for Christmas
This one is my cast drawing of an eye if you can't tell. It's halfway finished.  It should take me about 3 more weeks to finish (if I'm lucky). This one has been really fun and much better and faster then the mouth I did.  It should look really sculptural and "formy"  as they say, like it is actually popping out of the page.

This second drawing is the model Melissa we have in the afternoons.  Yes, she is nude :)  sorry everyone, but an artist's gotta do what and artist's gotta do.  I just started the modeling on her shoulder yesterday and it's coming along so well!!  I chose to be cheap at the art store and regret buying cheap paper now, it makes a big difference.  Next time I'll get better paper. She has faint tan lines on her chest you can see if you look closely.
Anyway, I have another week on this one and we'll see how it goes!! It is SOOOO much fun to draw the model like this! Its so amazing! I can't wait till I get really good at it!
much love

My (un) Adventure outside The City

Okay, wow, just have some good stories from today.  I had a job interview outside up manhattan, uptown.  In a place called Ossining.  They offered a music teaching position to me.  I couldn't decide whether or not I should even go, I kept changing my mind.  It's too far.... but it's good pay.... but its too far.... but it's better then Starbucks.... but it's too far.... So I ended up going, just to see what it was like.
Can I tell you how horrible getting there was?  Somone pickpocketed me and stole my wallet in the trainstation!! I only realized it minutes before my train came (the next train was in an hour)  I ran back downstairs and luckily someone had turned it in, whew... what a relief.  But they had stolen the cash and my credit card.   What a gentleman of a thief!  steal the stuff and give it back... how kind :)  seriously though, I was way thankful that I hadn't lost my debit card and driver's license and everything else.

So, I barely made the train and was on my way to the interview.  I called the credit card company while I was on the train and it took forever! And while I was on the phone this old guy across from me kept flirting with me with a very strong spanish accent, so I was distracted and stressed and everything.  He was like  "Oh I know where your stop is, I'll let you know when it comes up."  What a nice guy, so I kept being nice while I was stressed about the interview, the credit card theif etc.   The next thing I know I'm fixing my credit card and he's like "oh no! there's your stop!" I stand up and the doors close and I missed the stop.  AGGG!  so I had to get off the next stop, wait a half hour in below 20 wheather.
So, I finally made it, they LOVED me, offered me the job and..... I didn't take it.
A whole day of horribleness for nothing :)
Oh well, just another day in new york!!
I did meet a really cool guy who worked at the music school and talked to him the whole train ride home, so that was fun.
I'm putting up some pictures of the day.  The first is the empty train I was waiting on because I missed the ossining stop... which is the second picture. The other two are are pictures of the beautiful sunset over the hudson river on the way home in the train. Made the day much better.
much luv

First blog entry

So.... This is my first blog entry... I don't really know what to do so just hang out with me and I'll figure this out eventually.

I decided to do this because I'm constantly repeating everything to everyone back home about all my amazing adventures here in NY.  So check up occasionally and you can see the latest of everything.

I'll be posting my art, pictures and stories of stuff out here in the The City, so hope you're excited because I am!

the above drawing is a self portrait I did while feeling especially serious :)
I learned I can't concentrate on drawing and smile at the same time
