The Joys of New York's Trash

soooooo.....
The greatest day of my life pretty much was yesterday when I was walking to my baby bulldog sitting job and found beautiful french easel in somebody's trash!!! it is in GREAT condition and is really high quality. It would cost me around 200$ to buy it. It made me so happy! I can go plein air painting now.... paint/draw in my room.... go to other people's house to draw/paint..... so cool!
And no I was not "going through" somebodies trash, I found it on the side of the street. In New York everyone puts their trash on the street with no cans, so I happened to see it!
Happy Day!
Here are some pics.
I didn't set it up because I need some tools to turn the butterfly screws because they are kinda stuck.

Lucky you! I hear about people finding great finds in trash/goodwill, but I am not one of those lucky people.

Dumpster diving! Great pastime. :)

Actually, I know the feeling a little -- at the university family/student housing I used to live in, there was kind of an informal tradition where people would put anything they thought might be reusable *next* to the dumpsters instead of in them. It was a good way for a lot of very poor students to help each other out. I found some things there that I still use now, 6 years later. One person's trash actually is another person's treasure sometimes.

Anyway, I like the blog and enjoyed the pictures of your art. (Came here through a comment you left on Southeast of Eden.) I'll be back for more...if you don't mind. :)
